there's something very brave about bunnies-their lives are so fragile yet they live so boldly, so out in the open. this painting is in honor of their courage and trust.

this original bunny rabbit hopping in a starry winter night sky is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging wire for immediate wall display. this textural, mixed media painting is done on a piece of antique cotton fabric from a farm in Iowa. the painting has been wrapped around a thick block of repurposed wood. i buy all of my wood from a local furniture maker, and am never sure what he is going to sell me, which adds to the creative inspiration.

materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. the sides match the layered robin's egg blue and deep teal. materials include vintage doily, gold leaf, antique paper, vintage postage, antique handwritten letters and a piece of handcrafed lace from the same Iowa farm. this textural painting is about hope and heritage.

size is approximately 9" in width, and 8" in height. the painting is about 1.75" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!
