soaring in the infinite sky over infinite fields...

this original flying owl bird land sky painting is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging hook for immediate wall display. this textural, mixed media painting is done on a piece of irregularly-shaped reclaimed wood. i buy all of my wood from a local furniture maker, and am never sure what he is going to sell me, which adds to the creative inspiration.

the materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. the barn owl flies through navy blue at the tips of its wings, layered mint and moss green under its body. the bird soars onto a horizon of layered olive yellow and soft gold. top, bottom and left-hand side of the painting are mint green. right-hand edge is layered olive yellow and soft gold. materials include vintage paper, vintage stamps, vintage doily, gold leaf, and antique handwritten letters from the 1800's.

size is approximately 7" at the widest point and 11.5" in height. the painting is about 1" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!

a wonderful addition to a soothing soft space, a home on the edge of the woods, or a farmhouse. it is also a great gift for a nature enthusiast, or an owl lover.
