part of my objet d'art series: this original painting of a flying hummingbird bird is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. this textural, mixed media painting is done on a piece of hand carved birch wood and is framed in a beautiful easel frame from india. the floral frame is vintage with a lovely patina-handcrafted with paper mache and wood. the backing is made of plush fabric. you can hang the painting on the wall from a nail. simply lower the backing (it can shift around) to hang the painting.

materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. materials include handwritten antique letters from the 1800's, vintage doilie, vintage paper, vintage postage stamps and gold leaf.

size of the painting without the frame is 3.5x5.5". framed size is approximately 5.75" in width and 7.75" in height. the painting is about .5" in depth.

all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together! please keep in mind that this frame is vintage and should be handled with care to avoid damage. the painting can easily be removed through the back of the frame. the painting has been signed on the back.
