part of my objet d'art series: this original painting of a trio of goldfinch yellow birds on branches has a hanging wire for immediate wall display. this textural, mixed media painting is done on a birch wood panel and is professionally framed in an absolutely gorgeous handcrafted art nouveau wood frame from the belle epoque era, circa 1890-1900. the floral and art nouveau details are hand painted, and the color palette of the frame and painting are of the art nouveau/belle epoque era.

the age of the floral frame provides lovely patina and texture. the trio of goldfinches perch on a layered background of antique rose pink and dusty lilac, along with textured gold.

materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. materials include handwritten antique letters from the 1800's, vintage paper, vintage postage stamps and gold leaf.

in the objet d'art series, the painting and the frame are considered one piece. overall size is 13.25" in width and 15.25" in height. depth is .5". please keep in mind that the piece should be handled with care to avoid damage. the painting has been signed on the back.
