this original house on a hill with chickadee bird moon sky painting is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging wire for immediate wall display. this mixed media, textural work is done on a piece of weathered antique barn wood from a tobacco barn built in the 1800s. the weathered wood includes an aged metal patch someone used to patch a hole in the wood (knot). i used that area for the house on the hill. this wood has a lot of beautiful age and texture. i was inspired by the stories it could tell!

the materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. sides of the painting are the natural grain of the wood. materials include antique and vintage paper. the chickadee bird on branch and the house are mixed media painting on vellum.

size is approximately 9.5" in width and 17.5" in height. about .75" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!
