this owl trees forest bird painting original painting is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hanging wire for immediate wall display. part of my ongoing objet d'art collection: this textural, mixed media painting is done directly on a vintage florentine gold wood triptych frame. most likely the frame dates between 1940s-1960s. it originally had three pasted paper icon prints. those have been removed to expose the textural wood beneath. i painted on the wood directly creating the paintings with my usual layers of materials to create a lot of texture.

on the hinged doors are paintings of grass with trees in the distance. the center panel is a barn owl. you can display the painting with the doors open, or keep them closed for a surprise for the viewer! the frame has a lovely amount of age, patina and detail.

the materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. materials include vintage paper, vintage stamps, gold leaf, and antique handwritten letters from the 1800's.

size is approximately 14" at the widest point and 17" in height. the painting is about .75" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together!

a wonderful addition to a soothing soft space, a home on the edge of the woods, or a farmhouse. it is also a great gift for a nature enthusiast, or an owl lover.
