this original cute red squirrel painting is the ideal addition to a mantle, side table, desk, or shelf. it also has a hook for immediate wall display. part of the objet d'art series: this textural, mixed media painting is done on a piece of have carved birch wood and framed in a hand carved art nouveau wood frame from europe circa 1890-1910. the frame features oak leaves and stems, along with acorns.

the objet d'art series is a collection of mixed media paintings in vintage and antique frames. the frame and the painting are meant to be a single piece and the paintings are made for their particular frames.

the materials are applied layer by layer and then allowed to dry before the next application. this gives the paintings a great amount of depth and detail. materials include rose gold leaf, antique paper, vintage postage stamps, vintage paper and letters written in the 1800s.

size is approximately 6" in width at the widest point, and 8" in height at the tallest point. the painting is about .25" in depth. all of my paintings can be handled. they look great on their own, or buy a bunch and display them together! there is also a gray squirrel in a "matching" frame if you are interested in displaying the two paintings together.
